Veteran ghazal singer, Ashok Khosla, in an exclusive interview with KiaGia.com, opens up and shares his memorable moments with the legendary late Lata Mangeshkar. He says, “Lata Ji was India’s very own Maa Saraswati Devi. She was rather, she is and will always be soul of India. A loss, avoid which can never filled by any on, at least for another century.”
He feels very fortunate to have interacted with her in his life. Recalling his first interaction experience, Ashok Khosla recalls, once while he was singing in a concert, Lata Mangeshkar was the Chief Guest there and he sang ghazals addressing her and later received blessings from her.
Ashok Khosla further shares that he had been in her house many times for rehearsals with her sister, Meena Mangeshkar. While sharing some chucklesome memories, he said Lata Ji was also a great mimic and she used to imitate Kishore Kumar and many others and made the environment full of joy and laughter.
He concludes, “May her soul rest in peace is what all India is asking god and praying for her.”
