Right from his debut film Chocolate, director Vivek Agnihotri has dabbled in different genres. With ‘Junooniyat’, starring Pulkit Samrat and Yami Gautam in lead roles, he tries his hand at romance for the first time. The trailer, which opens with army officer Jahan Bakshi (Pulkit Samrat) rescuing the damsel-in-distress Suhani (Yami Gautam), shows the various phases that the couple goes through as they proclaim their junooniyat for each other several times.

Though one had seen Yami and Pulkit pair up for Sanam Re a few months back, the memories of that film does not really serve to your mind as you watch the trailer. Even though the film belongs to the same genre (romantic drama), it promises to show the lead pair in a completely different setup. The film seems to be a lot more mature and content driven which, unfortunately, was not the case with Sanam Re. As it is a T-Series film, one expects at least a couple of melodious songs in the offing. One does gets to hear a couple of songs in bits and pieces; the title track which plays in the final moments of the trailer seems to be promising.

The film, which started rolling in late 2014, went through its share of delays and got pushed further to make way for Sanam Re, another T-Series production featuring Pulkit and Yami in lead roles. Though that film could not make much of a noise, one hopes Junooniyat turns out to be a success for the production house and the lead pair.
