Actor Noah Schnapp, who has been ruling Netflix as Will Byers from the widely popular show ‘Stranger Things’ (2016), came out as gay in front of the world. But revealing such big news was not easy for the actor. It took him months to make up his mind and gather all the courage. While sharing the news, he explained the situation and how his friends kept on pushing him to reveal it and how hard it was for him.

Noah made up his mind when his family dropped off his twin sister Chole at college in Boston in January. While returning home, he made an eight-second long video, revealing the news of his being a gay, on his TikTok account, where he has 31 million followers.

After seven months, Noah finally opened up to Variety and shared his journey of coming out. He said, “I didn’t want to sit there waiting nervously to see what people were going to say. I just wanted to put it away and be confident in who I am and know that I don’t have to care what people think anymore.”

Noah shared that he was literally anxious after uploading the video. He further shared, “When I opened my phone at the end of the car ride, it was, like, a thousand texts of hearts and congratulations and rainbow flags. I was crying. I was like, ‘I made it. I’m done. I don’t have to worry’.”

Schnapp also shared the experience of coming out with the news to his long term co-star Millie Bobby Brown. It has been eight years since the duo has been working together on ‘Stranger Things’. Interestingly he also played a gay teenager in the series. “She was ecstatic. She said that she would’ve hated the idea of me marrying another girl and having to compete with that girl for my attention”, Noah said. “The fact that now it’ll be a guy, she was like, ‘Oh, he’ll be my best friend’.”
