The Duke of Sussex Prince Harry has finally made his first TV appearances on British’s ITV Channel and the US’s CBC Program 60 Minutes to promote his memoir, Spare and talked more about the Royal Family and shared that he is seeking accountability from his family for various reasons like his mother Princess Diana’s death, his marriage with Meghan Markle and much more.

Although this is not the first time Prince Harry talked about his family on national TV, this time he wanted his family to accept their deeds publicly. Harry shared that he feels much grateful for getting the chance to tell his story through a book and if he still would have been a part of the Royal Family, he couldn’t have got the chance to publish it, “I don’t think that we can ever have peace with my family unless the truth is out there. There’s a lot that I can forgive, but there needs to be conversations in order for reconciliation, and part of that has to be accountability.”

In the interview with ITV, Harry also shared that he had no intention to hurt his father King Charles and brother Prince William through his memoir. He also separately spoke about his stepmother Queen Consort Camilla, whom he takes as the villain in the family. He shared, “The only way that I can protect us and the only way that I can correct those mistruths is by writing something, the truth, in one place. And I fully accept that writing a book is feeding the beast anyway.”

When the show host Michael Starhan asked Harry about how his mother Diana would have reacted watching her son’s current state of mind, Harry shared, “I think she would be heartbroken that it’s ended up where it’s ended up. I think she’d be heartbroken about the fact that William, his office were part of these stories.”

These two interviews had taken place after Prince Harry’s book, Spare got leaked before its official publication date, which is on January 10, 2023 and accidentally went on sale early in Spain. In the book, the Duke of Sussex discussed his grieving process around the death of his mother Princess Diana, including how he coped up with drug addiction and how he and Prince William held onto doubts around Diana’s death for years.
