Queen Elizabeth II, the longest serving monarch in the history, who ruled for seventy years and achieved Platinum Jubilee, passed away on September 8, 2022 at the age of 96. The news shocked the world as there were no news about her health deterioration. In fact, just two days before her death, the queen had appointed Liz Truss as the fifty-sixth Prime Minister of UK on September 6 by her own. The queen took her last breath in peace at Balmoral Castle, UK, though it’s also been reported that doctors were highly concerned about her health.

It’s been more than two months Queen Elizabeth II passed away and recently a new biography has been published by Gyles Brandreth. It claims that the queen was actually battling bone marrow cancer and she passed away due to the disease. He wrote, “I had heard that the Queen had a form of myeloma, bone marrow cancer, which would explain her tiredness and weight loss and those ‘mobility issues’ we were often told about during the last year or so of her life.” However, her death certificate tells that she passed away due to old age.

In his biography, Gyles also revealed the queen’s reactions towards her grandson Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle’s special interview on ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’. Although Meghan has always shared that she had a very close and warm bond with the queen in various interviews, the book also claimed the same, “She liked Meghan and told lots of people so. And she did everything she could to make her future granddaughter-in-law feel welcome.”
