After making its India premiere at IFFI Goa, Prakash Jha’s next, ‘Pareeksha – The Final Test’, which stars Adil Hussain, Priyanka Bose, Sanjay Suri, and child star, Shubham Jha, will be streaming as an original on Zee 5 on August 6, will now premiere at the prestigious 23rd Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF) held from 25 July – 2 August 2020.

Written, directed and produced by Prakash Jha known for ‘Mrityudand’ (1997) and ‘Raajneeti’ (2010), ‘Pareeksha’ which is inspired by real events, takes a deep look at India’s education system – specifically dealing with how top education is reserved for the rich exclusively and is not easily available to the masses, creating more division in India’s society. It tells the story of a rickshaw puller whose dream is to provide a good education to his son. His goal to make this happen brings him in unexpected situations.

Talking about the international premiere at SIFF, Prakash Jha says, “It’s a great honour for our film, Pareeksha to have its International premiere at one of the biggest and most prestigious film festivals in South Asia. We are delighted that the festival is taking place physically and our film will actually be screened in theatres.”
