The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has filed a charge sheet against Rhea Chakraborty for purchasing and financing marijuana for her boyfriend, late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Her brother Showik is also accused of the same. The charge sheet named her and 34 others as accused in the high-profile case.
As a punishment, Riya Chakraborty could be behind bars for 10 years if convicted. According to the NCB, she purchased it on Sushant’s instance and used it. Rhea had said that she has been going through a media trial and it was more like a witch hunt. “I tried to control him… I have never spoken to a (drug) dealer or taken drugs in my life. I am open to a blood test,” she had said in an interview with a news channel in 2020.
Not only that, but she also accused Sushant Singh Rajput’s family of mentally harassing her. Sushant’s family claimed that she has a role in his death and urged the three agencies to investigate the matter.
Till now, nothing can be said with clarity about the late actor’s demise by any of the central agencies.
