It was a commercial and critical success and was followed by ‘Shuddh Desi Romance’ (2013) and ‘Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!’ (2015) that didn’t do well but showed Sushant as a versatile actor. He was also an assistant director for a film. He even had plans to move to the US to study filmmaking.

He was an avid reader who was deeply interested in astrophysics. He had also won the National Olympiad in Physics. He pursued his dream of being an actor because he was a huge fan of Shah Rukh Khan. He was one of the most talented faces of Bollywood who was incredibly kind and inspiring. He funded two children for their NASA training. He also donated funds after the Nagaland flood. There was no fanfare or publicity. He also contributed similarly during the Kerala floods. After his demise, his photos with fans had gone viral where his humbleness was seen.

He was always the centre of media attention. Be it personal or professional life he was always a favourite subject. He publicly proposed to Ankita Lokhande on the reality dance competition they were a part of. Few years later they grew apart because of differences and things ended mutually. He was rumoured to be in other relationships after the breakup but it was Rhea Chakraborty whom he dated last.

His last release was ‘Dil Bechara’ (2020) posthumously. On 14th June 2020 he allegedly committed suicide by hanging and died mysteriously. The investigation is still under process.

On his birthday many celebs have taken to their social media to share unseen photos and videos of the late actor.
