KGF Chapter 2 Movie Review

Helmed by filmmaker Prashanth Neel, it may be the first time in the history of Indian cinema that the second part of a movie is much more immersive than the first part. The movie deals with a gangster Syndicate that comes to an end as an outsider Rocky conquers it and forms his own Empire.

Rocky doesn’t just rule the land but he also rules the people. He has won a victory over the people of KGF and that’s how he keeps dreaming bigger and moves on dangerous paths ahead. The story is about Rocky’s journey to the top even going to the extent of encountering the righteous Prime Minister.

The movie is a dark satire on the corruption of the country. Apart from the interesting conflicts and battles, the movie also showcases Rocky’s emotional side too. Sanjay Dutt as Adheera and Raveena Tandon as the Prime Minister look amazing on screen. Although not the protagonist, their tracks are amazing. Prakash Raj’s narration is also just brilliant.

No matter how stylish and brilliant the details are, the movie showcases toxic masculinity. There is no strong woman character who is presented with such other details as the males are. Raveena Tandon looks deadly as the Prime Minister and is just superb on the screen but even her character doesn’t have much to flaunt.

With heavy action sequences and loaded with stunts the movie is a must-watch and there is also a hint of chapter 3 coming soon.

‘KGF Chapter 2’ is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
