Iman Vellani, the first Muslim to star as one of Marvel’s new superheroes

‘Ms. Marvel’ is an upcoming Marvel Studios’ mini TV series, created by Bisha K. Ali, which is based on Marvel’s comic character Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel.

Marvel Studios has recently dropped the trailer of the series on social media and unveiled the release date, which is on June 8 and will be streaming on Disney+ Hotstar. In 2013, Marvel introduced the character Kamala Khan, who is a Pakistani-American teenager from New Jersey. She has got superhero abilities and she idiolises Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel.

The trailer shows that Kamala (Iman Vellani), a high-school teenager, is a die-hard fan of Carol Danvers and often day-dreams about her. She has a crush on one of her classmates. One day she discovers that she has got some superpower abilities and confused with the peer pressure and for that she is trying to figure out her life. Now, it will be interesting to watch how Kamala gets her powers and with whom she faces off against.

‘Ms. Marvel’ also stars Fawad Khan, Aramis Knight, Matt Lintz, Saagar Sheikh, Rish Shah, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Yasmeen Fletcher, Travina Springer and Laith Nakli and co-directed by Adil El Arbi, Bilall Fallah, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy and Meera Menon.

Meanwhile, Marvel has got ‘Doctor Strange And The Multiverse Of Madness’ and ‘Moon Knight’ on the horizon.
