Jennifer Lawrence, who made quite an impact on audiences with her last film, ‘Don’t Look Up’ (2021), has recently again opened up about another hot topic of the pay gap she faced in the entertainment industry. Previously she had talked about the Roe V. Wade lawsuit, which was overturned by the US Supreme Court in June. She had explained that how abortion has helped her to save her life and hence, how abortion is important for women.

Lawrence has also made headlines because of her pregnancy. She was caught by the paparazzi with her baby bump on the world premiere of ‘Don’t Look Up’. She recently embraced motherhood as she gave birth to a baby boy.

In an interview with Vogue, months after ‘Don’t Look Up’s release, she spoke about being paid $5 million less from co-star, Leonardo DiCaprio. She said, “It doesn’t matter how much I do. I’m still not going to get paid as much as that guy, because of my vagina?”

Last year, Vanity Fair magazine had revealed that while Lawrance was paid $25 million, DiCaprio’s fees were $30 million for ‘Don’t Look Up’. While speaking about the topic, that time Jennifer had said, “Yeah, I saw that too. Look, Leo brings in more box office than I do. I’m extremely fortunate and happy with my deal. But in other situations, what I have seen and I’m sure other women in the workforce have seen as well is that it’s extremely uncomfortable to inquire about equal pay. And if you do question something that appears unequal, you are told it’s not gender disparity but they can’t tell you what exactly it is.”

Jennifer Lawrence will be next seen in ‘Causeway’, a psychological drama directed by Lila Neugebauer.
