The character of Superman is one of the most loved and popular among DC fans. And when one mentions Superman, one can’t help but picture Henry Cavill! The actor started playing the role of the iconic superhero since 2013 with ‘Man Of Steel’. Later he kept blowing our mind in ‘Batman Vs Superman: Dawn Of Justice’ (2016), ‘Justice League’ (2017) and in ‘Zack Snyder’s Justice League’ (2021).
However, recently there was a big competition going on about who’s going to play the next Superman role and numerous big Hollywood actors have been compared with Henry Cavill. Not only that, the actors were also given points orderly. Did you know Jamie Dornan was also in talks for the role? Apparently he lost to Henry Cavill when compared.
Jamie Dornan, who rose to fame as Christian Grey in the most erotic film ‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ (2015) triology, was one of them. His sensuous, seductive and bold moves with Dakota Johnson still now make fans go weak in the knees.
Seems like losing such a prodigious role to Henry Cavill irked Jamie. He recently talked about the topic that how it affected him with The New York Times and shared that he must succeed, “I’m more ambitious than I’ve ever let on before. It’s like a necessity to deliver and provide, very caveman-esque, I must succeed for these precious little people. Also, since my dad died, it’s lit this extra fire within me, this extra burner of wanting to succeed.”
Jamie also revealed that he met Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios’ head, DC’s rival and had talked about his dream role in Marvel, “What have I done, three war movies? You’d think that might help my cause out a little bit with straight men, but probably not. I think you need to be in that comic-book world to really grab their attention.”
Nevertheless, till now, we have no further news about who has been selected for the role of Superman. As of now, we can only expect for a surprise.
