Director and actor Satish Kaushik passes away

The Indian film fraternity woke up to a shocking news today. Early this morning, legendary director and actor Satish Kaushik passed away at the age of 66. The actor died due to heart attack.

He made his debut as an actor with the film ‘Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron’ (1983). In 1993, he made his directorial debut with the film ‘Roop Ki Raani Choron Ka Raja’ which starred Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Lt. Sridevi and Anupam Kher. He has directed more than fourteen films, including ‘Tere Naam’ (2003), ‘Kaagaz’ (2021) and many more.

Veteran actor Anupam Kher, who was good friend of Satish Kaushik, mourned the loss of the filmmaker by tweeting, “I know death is the ultimate truth of this world! But I never thought in my dreams that I would write this about my best friend Satish Kaushik. Such a sudden end to a friendship of 45 years. Life will NEVER be the same without you SATISH ! Om Shanti.”

Actor Manoj Joshi wrote on Twitter, “I am shocked and saddened beyond words at the tragic demise of one of my dearest friends, Satish Kaushik. He will be remembered for his versatile performances across different mediums. My thoughts are with his family, friends and admirers.”
