The shocking news of Satish Kaushik’s sudden demise came to us today early in the morning through Anupam Kher. He revealed that Kaushik was at his friend’s home yesterday and, “He felt uneasy and he told driver to take him to the hospital and on the way he suffered a heart attack around 1 am.”

Born in 1956, Satish Kaushik was a celebrated actor and director in Bollywood. He was mostly known for his comic timing. From ‘Mr. India’ (1989), ‘Roop Ki Rani Choro Ka Raja’ (1993), ‘Bade Miyan Chotey Miyan’ (1998), ‘Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain’ (1999), ‘Tere Naam’ (2003) to ‘Darna Zaroori Hai’ (2006), his satirical dialogues in these films are unforgettable.

Kaushik was quite active in the industry till now. He was last seen in ‘Sharmaji Namkeen’ and ‘Thar’ in 2022 and ‘Chhatriwali’ in 2023, which was released on ZEE5 less than two months back. According to insiders, his latest project ‘Emergency’ is still in the stage of filming. Hence his sudden demise has shocked the whole Bollywood.

As Kaushik has worked with composer Anu Malik in films like ‘Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain’ (1999), ‘Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai’ (2001), ‘Badhaai Ho Badhaai’ (2002), we had a brief chat with Malik this morning. He seemed deeply saddened and shocked while remembering Kaushik. Malik shared, “Shocked. Saddened. Numbed. Unable to put this humongous tragedy into words. A great human being. Hugely talented. Inspired me to make my best. May Satish Ji’s soul rest in everlasting peace. May God give his family immense strength to bear this irreplaceable loss. I’m at a loss of words.”

Satish Kaushik is among those directors from the ‘90s, who repeated Anu Malik in three big projects. They also collaborated on ‘Teree Sang’ (2009).

We pray for Satish Kaushik’s eternal peace.
