Adah Sharma-starrer The Kerala Story surpasses Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan to become the most anticipated Indian film on IMDb

‘The Kerala Story’, an upcoming film produced by Vipul Shah, has generated a lot of interest since its trailer release. According to the date released by IMDb, the film has already surpassed Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film ‘Jawan’ to claim the title of most anticipated forthcoming Indian movie. As per this data, ‘Jawan’ currently has 22% page views share compared to ‘The Kerala Story’, which is currently leading by 34% page views share.

‘The Kerala Story’ is said to be based on true events and it tells the story of a group of Kerala women who are forced to convert to the Islam and join the radical Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). The film, directed by Sudipto Sen, stars Adah Sharma, Yogita Bihani, Sonia Balani and Siddhi Idnani in prominent roles and is slated to release in theatres on May 5, 2023.

‘The Kerala Story’ has been riticized by opposition political parties, who have labelled it as a propaganda film and have accused the makers of representing Kerala negatively. This has created additional controversy, and also helped in adding to the film’s buzz.
