Russo Brothers, the hugely acclaimed director duo, who are widely known for their works with Marvel Cinematic Universe with films like ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ (2014), ‘Captain America: Civil War’ (2016), ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ (2018), ‘Avengers: Endgame’ (2019) and other popular films like ‘Extraction’ (2020), ‘The Gray Man’ (2022), are gearing up for their upcoming release ‘Citadel’, a British spy drama, which is all set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video.

‘Citadel’ stars our desi girl Priyanka Chopra in the lead along with Richard Madden, Ashleigh Cummings, Stanley Tucci and Nikki Amuka-Bird. The series was announced in the very beginning of 2021 and since then, it has created quite headlines in India because of Priyanka Chopra’s being in the lead again, after ‘Quantico’ (2015), for the second time. Surely Chopra has excellently cemented her career in Hollywood and continues making India proud globally.

Now it’s time for Varun Dhawan to create a new record in his career too! Russo Brothers have recently announced that an Indian version of ‘Citadel’ will be coming soon and Varun has been chosen in the lead. The director duo shared a still picture of Varun, from the drama series. The duo revealed the news in the caption saying, “We are thrilled to officially announce that we will be bringing you the Indian installment of the ‘Citadel’ universe. The local original spy series will start filming in January 2023.”

At present, the makers have only announced that the untitled Indian installment will be produced by Raj and DK’s D2R Films, Amazon Studio and Russo Brothers’ AGBO.

Varun Dhawan, who cemented his career as an A-lister actor in Bollywood within a decade of his debut, seems like he is all set to begin a new chapter with Hollywood now.

It’s been reported that the shooting of the British installment has been wrapped up in June 2022 and is currently in the post-production phase. Though the release date has not been declared, it supposed to be dropped on Prime Video in early 2023.
