Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘Rangoon’, one of the most anticipated movies of the year, is going to be a sure shot winner. The film’s official trailer looks passably epic.
The 3:20 minute long trailer of this high-octane romantic drama set against the backdrop of second world war shows Shahid Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan who play army man and movie producer respectively, vying for feisty Kangana Ranaut, the reigning queen of Bollywood circa 1940.
Vishal Bhardwaj, known for stumping audiences with films like ‘Haider’, ‘Maqbool’, ‘Omkara’ to name a few, is all set to create magic once again. This time he is treating audiences with a film which is all about ‘Love, War and Deceit’.
It promises terrific performances from the three time National Award winner Kangana Ranaut, the versatile Shahid Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan.
Despite the easily predicatable plot, Vishal’s exceptional filmmaking style makes this film exciting and complicated in structure. While most of the details are interwoven subtly, it has some brilliant dialogues.
The film’s visuals by ‘Haider’ and ‘Ship of Theseus’ fame cinematographer Pankaj Kumar are strikingly evocative of departed era. The high-class production design and catchy music give the period drama a right touch and we can’t wait to watch this ‘triangle love story in war zone’ in cinemas.
