Thangalaan: Director Pa. Ranjith casts an international actor in his next movie

The makers of Pa. Ranjith’s directorial ‘Thangalaan’ announced on Tuesday a new addition to the cast of his upcoming film, which stars Chiyaan Vikram in the lead role.

After months of scouting, the makers of ‘Thangalaan’ introduced popular Hollywood actor Daniel Caltagirone to the audiences. Daniel is known for his roles in films like ‘The Pianist’ (2002) and ‘Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle Of Life’ (2003).

‘Thangalaan’ is an adventure period film based on the real events that happened at the Kolar Gold Factory in Karnataka. The story focuses on the people who worked at the KGF under British rule. Pa Ranjith has also roped in Malavika Mohanan and Parvathy Thiruvothu to play pivotal roles in the film, which is being made at an estimated budget of more than Rs. 100 Crore.

The film is produced by producer Gnanavel Raja under his Studio Green banner, and the makers are simultaneously shooting the film in 3D to ensure a larger-than-life experience for the audiences.

The film will release during the second quarter of the year in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi in 2D as well as 3D versions.
