‘Dahaad’, starring Sonakshi Sinha, Vijay Varma, Gulshan Devaiah and Sohum Shah in the lead, has been selected for the Berlinale Series Competition, a key component of the upcoming Berlin Film Festival 2023. Co-directed by Reema Kagti and Ruchika Oberoi, the eight-episodic crime drama is co-produced by Excel Entertainment and Tiger Baby Films.

Set in a small, sleepy town in Rajasthan, the story of ‘Dahaad’ follows sub-inspector Anjali Bhaati (Sonakshi Sinha) and her colleagues at the local police station. When a series of women are mysteriously found dead in public bathrooms, sub-Inspector Anjali Bhaati is tasked with the investigation. At first, the deaths appear to be clear-cut suicides but as the cases unravel, Anjali begins to suspect that a serial killer is on the loose. What follows is a riveting game of cat and mouse between a seasoned criminal and an underdog cop as she pieces together evidence before another innocent woman loses her life.

Established in 2015, Berlinale Series is one of the largest public film festivals in the world, attracting thousands of visitors from around the globe each year. For the film industry and the media, the eleven-day festival is also one of the most important events in the annual calendar and an indispensable trading forum. The ninth edition of Berlinale Series will begin on February 20, 2023.

Produced by Zoya Akhtar, Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, ‘Dahaad’ will be releasing on Amazon Prime this year.
