‘Delhi Crime’ directed by Richie Mehta was the big winner at the 2nd Annual Asian Academy Creative Awards in Singapore on 6 December 2019. Shefali Shah won the Best Actress award in the leading role. The series also won the Best Drama Series, Best Direction – Fiction & Best Original Programme by a Streamer/OTT.

This is Shefali Shah’s third Best Actress award for Delhi Crime (iReel Awards 2019 and OTT Best Actor Female at 10th Jagran Film Festival 2019).

Shefali Shah played the central role of a passionate Police Cop (Vartika Chaturvedi) in the Netflix original series ‘Delhi Crime’. Based on Nirbhaya Delhi case, Shefali Shah plays the real life Delhi cop who investigated the rape case and hunted the rapists in 72 hours in the series which centers on the heroic actions of the Delhi police.

Having received an overwhelming response for her performance in ‘Delhi Crime’, Shefali says, “OMG! I can’t even begin to express how I feel. I am extremely thrilled and excited to win the Best Actress award. There were so many South Asian countries nominated like China, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia and the competition was very stiff. I felt honoured representing my country and happy to know the kind of reach that Indian content has won over and kind of the appreciation Delhi Crime has garnered across the globe. I was more excited to receive the Best Drama series award. I am extremely proud to be part of this show, this is the recognition for each and everyone’s hard work, love for this show.”
