Rasika Dugal celebrates first anniversary of Delhi Crime Season 2; speaks highly of co-star Sheflai Shah: “Following in her footsteps…more surely every season”

Rasika Dugal took a moment to commemorate the first anniversary of the highly acclaimed series ‘Delhi Crime Season 2’ (2022). Known for her remarkable portrayal of Neeti Singh in the gripping police procedural, Rasika Dugal shared her thoughts on stepping into the shoes of Shefali Shah and the intricate journey of her character in the show.

Rasika Dugal’s role as Neeti Singh in Season 2 garnered widespread acclaim, showcasing her dedication to authenticity and character depth. To prepare for her role, Rasika shadowed a trainee police officer. This immersive experience provided her with valuable insights into the behaviour of law enforcement officials in diverse situations. Intriguingly, mirroring her character’s trajectory, the trainee officer was also promoted to the same rank. Rasika’s commitment to embodying her character’s journey shines through her performances and resonates with the audience.

Reflecting on her experience, Rasika Dugal shared, “The opportunity to portray Neeti Singh in ‘Delhi Crime Season 2’ has been a special experience. Shadowing a trainee police officer allowed me to grasp the nuances of the profession and made the whole process so much more interesting for me. Walking alongside the remarkable Shefali Shah and the brilliant ensemble cast of the series has been an honour.”

Directed by Tanuj Chopra, the gripping narrative of ‘Delhi Crime Season 2’ took a departure from its predecessor, shifting its focus from a singular crime to a series of interconnected murders. The series follows a team of dedicated police officers as they relentlessly pursue an elusive gang. The first season of the show received an International Emmy nomination, underscoring its impact and significance on the global stage.

Rasika Dugal is set to reprise her role as Neeti Singh in the third season of ‘Delhi Crime’. Additionally, she will also be returning to portray the character of Beena Tripathi in the highly-anticipated third season of the show ‘Mirzapur’ (2018). Her upcoming projects extend beyond these roles and include ‘Little Thomas’, ‘Lord Curzon Ki Haveli’, ‘Spike’, ‘Fairy Folk’ and a few more unannounced projects.
