Shannen Doherty, Beverly Hills 90210 star turns 51

Shannen Doherty had always impressed the audiences with her negative roles in maximum roles in her life such as the unforgettable character, Brenda Walsh in famous series ‘Beverly Hills, 90120’ (1990-2000) and as a powerful witch, Prue Halliwell in ‘Charmed’ (1998-2006).

Let’s revisit some beautiful memories of Doherty’s life, as the stunning actress has turned 51 years old on April 12.

Born in Memphis, Tennessee, Doherty started her career as guest spots at a very little age on TV series like ‘Voyagers!’ and ‘Father Murphy’ in 1982, which were produced by Michael Landon. In the same year, Shannen starred in ‘Little House On The Prairie’, where Landon had also starred and produced the series.

Doherty has also lent her voice for the MGM’s animated film ‘The Secret Of NIHM’ in 1982. She has also appeared in an early episode of ‘Airwolf’ (1984-1987), for which she was nominated as Best Young Actress at the 64th Youth In Film Awards show in 1984. Shannen has also got nominated several times for Young Artist Awards because of her performance as Kris Witherspoon in the family drama ‘Our House’ (1986-1988).

Shannen Doherty is currently suffering from stage four cancer and everyday is a reason for happiness and joy. She was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015. She had hormone therapy to fight for it but it was ineffective and the cancer had spread to her lymph nodes. After that, Shannen underwent to mastectomy and also chemotherapy and radiations and was relieved from cancer. But then again, the catastrophic news she announced in 2020, that her cancer returned and this time it has spread to other parts of her body, which is now called metastatic and also stage four cancer.

Shannen has done numerous other remarkable works such as ‘Girls Just Want to Have Fun’ (1985), ‘Obsessed’ (1997), ‘Another Day’ (2001), ‘90210’ (2008-2013), ‘Fortress’ (2021) and many more.
