Sacha Baron Cohen is set to revive his iconic character Ali G for a stand-up tour, but a film comeback is not yet in the works.

After resurrecting the character for a secret gig in Sydney in 2021, Variety first reported that the character will make an appearance in an upcoming stand-up tour from Baron Cohen.

He told British GQ at the time, “I just wanted to get on stage and muck around and see what Ali G would be like with a crowd. It was really good fun. The reason I became a comedian was that I loved people laughing at my jokes.”

The 51-year-old actor has also had roles in films such as the ‘Madagascar’ (2005) franchise, Les Misérables (2012) and ‘The Trial Of The Chicago 7’ (2020).

Ali G rose to fame in the UK for his prank interviews with prominent people, including politicians and judges. He went on to star in the TV series ‘Da Ali G Show’ (2000) and the film ‘Ali G Indahouse’ (2002). By 2007, Ali G had become too famous and recognizable, so Sacha Baron Cohen retired the character.

He is very famously remembered for this interview with Donald Trump on the ‘Da Ali G Show’.
