Who could have imagined one of the most fun loving, sarcastic, humorous and irresistible men in Hollywood, Ryan Reynolds, would turn into a soccer club owner one day! Yes, you heard it right! The actor, who is famous for his notorious superhero character Deadpool, brought a lowly Welsh soccer team, Wrexham, along with fellow actor Rob McElhenney last year.

The actor duo’s takeover and the fifth-tier team’s subsequent bid for promotion of hit documentary series ‘Welcome To Wrexham’ is the latest in a booming trend of behind-the-scenes sports documentaries.

While promoting the series, Ryan talked about the team and said, “I have fallen in love with not just Wrexham but the people of Wales. I knew I would be entrenched in the town, I just did not know that it would go this deep this quickly. It’s been amazing. It’s been truly one of the great privileges of my life.”

According to few sources, the other star cast and the producers of ‘Welcome To Wrexham’ have also took ownership of the club, despite having minimum knowledge about soccer.

However, Reynolds have received immense support and honour for this initiative. Oscar winning director Ron Howard, producer Jason Blum and several other actors gave big shout outs to him.
