Renowned director and producer Ravi Tandon passes away

Yesterday at 3:30 a.m., Ravi Tandon, who was a well-known director and producer in the Hindi film industry, passed away at the age of 86 due to old age at his residence in Mumbai. He suffered from lung fibrosis, as reported by Hindustan Times. 

He was Raveena Tandon’s father.

Some of his popular films as a director are ‘Khel Khel Mein’ (1973), ‘Anhonee’ (1973), ‘Majboor’ (1974), ‘Zindagi’ (1976), ‘Khud-Daar’ (1982) and ‘Nazrana’ (1987). As a producer, his first film was ‘Anhonee’. He acted in ‘Love In Shimla’ (1960). He is also credited for the TV serial ‘Heena’ (1998).

Raveena Tandon took to her Instagram to share a series of photos with her father as a memory and wrote, “You will always walk with me, I will always be you, I’m never letting go. Love you Papa.”

Many Bollywood celebrities have expressed their condolences in the comments like Juhi Chawla, Namrata Shirodkar, Neelam Kothari and Chunky Panday.

He was a filmmaker who made a lot of actors bigger stars due to his vision. He had the opportunity to work with Rajesh Khanna, Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjeev Kumar, Vinod Mehra, Jeetendra, Pran and other leading actresses of his era. He took risks as a producer, directed good films, had a good ear for music and made wholesome entertainment which will be cherished forever.
