Juhi Chawla turned 55 this November

Juhi Chawla, Miss India 1984, turned 55 this November and urged her fans and followers on Twitter to plant trees as her birthday gift. Her friends from Bollywood took to their social media and pledged to plant trees. Raveena Tandon pledged 100 trees and Sonakshi Sinha pledged 500 trees. Juhi herself had earlier pledged 500 trees for Shah Rukh Khan (SRK)’s birthday.

At the young age of 18, the actress won the Miss India pageant and had been a leading Bollywood actress since then. She made her acting debut with a small role in ‘Sultanat’ (1986) and won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress in ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’ (1988). She is known for films such as ‘Darr’ (1993), ‘Mr. and Mrs. Khiladi’ (1997), ‘Yes Boss’ (1997), ‘Ishq’ (1997), ‘My Brother Nikhil’ (2005), ‘Jhankaar Beats’ (2003), ‘3 Deewarein’ (2003), etc. Her last film was ‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga’ (2019).

She is also a film producer and entrepreneur. Along with her husband Jay Mehta and SRKshe has started a production house Dreamz Unlimited, which produced three films. She also co-owns the IPL team KKR along with SRK. She made a guest appearance in the Alt Balaji web series ‘The Test Case’ (2017).

In a career over three decades, she emerged as a successful actress, producer, entrepreneur and a mother. She is now an activist who works to balance climate change.
