The trailer of ‘Prithviraj’ starring Akshay Kumar and Manushi Chillar was released today. Produced by Aditya Chopra of Yash Raj Films (YRF), the movie also stars Sanjay Dutt and Sonu Sood in pivotal roles. Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi’s directorial marks the debut of Miss World Manushi Chillar in Bollywood.
The trailer doesn’t show much grandeur of heroism. Being a periodical drama it will be compared to movies such as ‘Padmavaat’ (2018) or ‘Jodha Akbar’ (2008) and will never match them. Be it the costume of the protagonists or the battle scene, nothing felt intriguing.
The movie will revolve around The First Battle of Tarain, in which SamratPrithviraj Chauhan faced Muhammad Ghori and won. The trailer begins with Akshay being crowned as the ruler of Delhi and ends with him shooting an arrow toward a jumping lion roaring at him. We get glimpses of Sanjay Dutt as Prithviraj’s blind uncle and Sonu Sood as Prithivraj’s loyal friend Chandra Vardai. Manushi adds to the glamour quotient and is seen putting a garland around a golden statue of Prithviraj and defining her relationship with him as her father.
The movie is all set to release on 3rd June 2022 and will release in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
