Ever since Johnny Depp’s ex-wife, Amber Heard, alleged him for being abusive and violent, Depp has lost several big projects and one of them is a film in the ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’ franchise. Later, Depp sued Heard for $50 million defamation lawsuit and won the case after which he was awarded $8 million in damages by the jury.

Now, it’s been reported that, Depp will be seen in a different avatar as King Louis XV in the upcoming historical drama, ‘Jeanne du Barry’. This is the first film of the actor post defamation lawsuit. According to Variety, the film’s shooting began in Paris in July end this year, after the defamation trial wrapped up in June.

The story of ‘Jeanne du Barry’ is inspired by the life of Jeanne du Barry, a young working-class woman, who used her intelligence to allure the King Louis XV, who ruled France from 1715 to 1774, to climb up to the high status of the society and later became the last mistress of the King at the Court of Versaille. Directed by Maïwenn, the cast of the film also includes Benjamin Lavernhe, Pierre Richard, Melvil Poupaud, Noemie Lvovsky, Pascal Greggory and India Hair.

On August 10, the makers of ‘Jeanne du Barry’ dropped the first photo of Johnny Depp as King Louis XV, where we can see Depp’s side face look in a King’s attire in regal clothing with an impressive hat and his blonde curly hair is seen from behind. His eyes are blind folded with a black cloth, which signifies the King’s turning blind eye towards corruption in his empire.
