The famous English author J.K. Rowling, who gave the world one of the most cherished novels of all time ‘Harry Potter’, has been embroiled in a controversy since a very long time thanks to her transphobic views, or even being stereotypical sometimes.

There also have been campaigns to boycott her projects like the newly released Hogwarts Legacy video game and receiving huge backlash. The hatred took a new level of severity as Rowling started getting death threats. She received death threats previously as well when she supported Salman Rushdie after he was stabbed last year.

While talking on this topic on her podcast ‘The Witch Trials Of J.K. Rowling’, the author claimed that people have deeply misunderstood her position on transgender women. She assured that she never meant to upset anyone. While talking about the reactions of fans, who said that she has absolutely ruined her legacy, she shared that those people, “could not have misunderstood me more profoundly.”

“I do not walk around my house, thinking about my legacy. You know, what a pompous way to live your life walking around thinking, ‘What will my legacy be?’ Whatever, I’ll be dead. I care about now. I care about the living”, Rowling shared in the first episode of the podcast, according to Variety.

‘The Witch Trials of J.K. Rowling’ is a seven-episodic podcast and is available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and other audio platforms.
