The sequel to Shashank Khaitan’s film ‘Dhadak’ (2018), in which Ishaan Khattar and Janhvi Kapoor made their acting debuts, is now in the works. According to the sources, Karan Johar, who produced this movie through his banner Dharma Productions, will also produce the sequel as well. As per reports, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri will be seen playing the lead roles this time instead of Ishaan and Janhvi. Shazia Iqbal, meanwhile, will make her directorial debut with ‘Dhadak 2’.
‘Dhadak’ was the Hindi remake of the Marathi film ‘Sairat’ (2016), which was directed by Nagraj Manjule. However, it is not known whether ‘Dhadak 2’ would be a remake or will it be based on an original story.
Reportedly, it is learnt that Karan Johar is planning to make ‘Dhadak’ as a franchise in the love story genre, as he thinks that the story of two lead actors fighting for their love has a lot of potential.
