Dhadak Quick Movie Review

Janhvi Kapoor (Late Sridevi’s daughter) is first-rate and amazing in every frame. She has a great screen presence and is a natural actress. Ishaan Khatter too has performed very well but should have been given a better role in the second half. Director Shashank Khaitan has done a good job and has made the first half very engrossing and entertaining. Though the story (Nagraj Mangule) offers nothing new for the viewers, the screenplay (Shashank Khaitan) is superbly written in the first half. Dialogues are simple and good. Unfortunately, the second half disappoints and offers nothing new. The pace slows down in the second half and hardly entertains. Even the emotional scenes are quite weak. Locations of Udaipur are well captured by cinematographer (Vishnu Rao). Costumes and other technical aspects are of top quality. Two songs (Music by Ajay-Atul) taken from ‘Sairat’ are super hit, of which “Zingaat” is very well picturized. Although the climax is shocking, it is still predictable. On the whole, the film has a terrific youth appeal and would be largely patronized by them.

Rating – 2.5/5
