The renowned Blue Tick, which served as a representation of the official Twitter accounts of world leaders, celebrities and sports figures, were eventually withdrawn from those handles that failed to subscribe to Twitter Blue, thus marking the end of an era.

These handles can once again get verification if they agree to pay between $8 and $11 every month. However, some long-time users have refused to pay for the premium service promoted by Twitter CEO Elon Musk.

On Thursday midnight, Indian celebrities like Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn, Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Yash, Ram Charan, Vijay Sethupathi, Vijay Deverakonda, Shahid Kapoor, Chiranjeevi, Vikram, Ranveer Singh, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Ananya Panday, Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt, Ali Abbas Zafar, Tiger Shroff, John Abraham, Allu Arjun, Venkatesh Daggubati, Manoj Bajpayee, Abhishek Bachchan, etc., are no longer verified with the blue tick on Twitter.

Actor and politician Prakash Raj, who also lost his blue tick on the platform took to his Twitter account and wrote, “Bye bye #BlueTick …. It was nice having you….my journey ..my conversations..my sharing…will continue with my people … you take care #justasking.”

On the other hand, the Twitter accounts of Jr. NTR and S S Rajamouli are still verified and carrying the blue ticks.
