As predicted, ‘Hamari Adhuri Kahani’ took an opening day of Rs. 5 crore. This was meant to be a number from which the film could grow further on the basis of good word of mouth and critical acclaim. Saturday remained on the same lines. However, Sunday saw a decent jump and Rs. 6.4 crore more come in. As a result of this, the Mohit Suri directed film stands at 16.5 crore now.

Of course, more was expected from the film, considering the fact that it is a package affair with Mahesh Bhatt, Mohit Suri, Emraan Hashmi, Vidya Balan and Rajkummar Rao coming in along with some good music as well. The film saw mixed response coming its way, though Sunday jump has given hope of somehow sustained weekdays. All eyes would now be on how coming days are as that would pretty much indicate the eventual outcome for the film.

Commercially though, the film is on the safe zone as its cost of production (including P&A) is Rs. 35 crore out of which Rs. 22.5 crore have already come in from satellite and music. With only 12.5 crore more needed for recovery from India and Overseas theatrical, the film is set to break even at the least.

Note: All collections as per production and distributor sources
