‘Barbie’ is currently flying high as it has emerged as the first billion-dollar film of the year, that too directed by a woman. The film is based on the iconic Mattel’s Barbie doll, who is living fully and enjoying her colourful life in her fancy fictional world. However, Barbie (Margot Robbie) and her boyfriend Ken (Ryan Gosling) soon discover the joys and perils of living among humans when they get a chance to visit the real world.

It’s been almost a month since the film was released and now director Greta Gerwig has revealed an exciting news to Hollywood First. Can you imagine Timothée Chalamet, the ‘Call Me By Your Name’ (2018) famed actor, as Ken? Gerwig shared that Chalamet visited her on the set of ‘Barbie’ and expressed his deep desire to be a part of the film.

“I tried to get them both (Timothée Chalamet and Saoirse Ronan) in it. They both couldn’t do it. Although Timothée did come by the set and then said, ‘I should have been in this,’ And I was like, ‘I know! Why aren’t you in this?”, Greta said.

As Timothée Chalamet previously starred in Greta Gerwig directorials ‘Lady Bird’ (2017) and ‘Little Woman’ (2019), he was very excited to watch the filming of ‘Barbie’.

Timothée Chalamet will be next seen in the sequel of ‘Dune’ (2021) and the musical film ‘Wonka’.
