Exactly four weeks after ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, a biggie is all set to be unveiled in theatres. ‘Brothers’, which has been in news ever since its inception a year ago, is the big film this Independence Day weekend and is all set to enjoy a major haul.

Just about everything appears to be going right for the film. The promo has been accepted quite well. The lead cast of Akshay Kumar, Sidharth Malhotra and Jackie Shroff is superb. With ‘Gabbar Is Back’, ‘Baby’ and ‘Ek Villain’ behind them, Akshay and Sidharth are enjoying a good run. Karan Johar and Karan Malhotra have given a superhit ‘Agneepath’ together. The action is looking unique and fantastic. The emotional appeal is promising good footfalls from the family audience. And most importantly, audiences are interested in coming to theatres, as seen in the recent spate of blockbusters.

All of this will ensure that ‘Brothers’ takes a very good opening at the Box Office. Since the film is releasing wide, even a start of over 60% on the opening day would mean that it would be on a right path, provided the word of mouth is favorable. Moreover, since Saturday falls on 15th August, a huge haul is pretty much on the cards, followed by Sunday which is anyways meant for large number of family audiences. While the film is set to open big, the only question is how big. While over Rs. 15 crore (Rs. 150 million) first day is pretty much on the cards, it can even go to Rs. 20 crore (Rs. 200 million) if the film gets a favorable response.

Meanwhile, Vinay Pathak’s ‘Gaur Hari Dastaan – The Freedom File’ is set for release this Friday as well. The film has hardly seen any promotion coming its way and would be seeing a restricted release. The Ananth Narayan Mahadevan directed film would be relying entirely on critical acclaim to pull in audience.
