‘Lateef’, ‘Ishq Ke Parindey’, ‘Jai Ho! Democracy’, ‘Kaagaz Ke Fools’ – These are the four Bollywood releases of the week and their fate is pretty much written even before the first show commences. To begin with, at least two of these four films are much delayed products – ‘Lateef’ and ‘Kaagaz Ke Phools’.

Lateef is a Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer that was put together quite some time back and is now seeing an abrupt arrival. No one associated with the film has promoted it and the official promo too has been put together in a rather abrupt manner. An underworld affair, the film stands absolutely no chance. Another delayed release is ‘Kaagaz Ke Fools’ and it is a pity that the film is releasing in such an abstract manner, considering the fact that its starcast is reasonably decent with Vinay Pathak, Raima Sen and Mugdha Godse. A domestic comedy, the film’s songs have been online but the promo pretty much kills the interest.

‘Jai Ho! Democracy’ has the best set of talent associated with it in the form of Om Puri, Annu Kapoor, Satish Kaushik, Seema Biswas, Adil Hussain and Aamir Bashir. However, if the promo hasn’t found much takers, the promotion too has been non-existent. Another no-show in the making. Fourth release of the week, ‘Ishq Ke Parindey’, has a couple of decent songs as its strengths but despite this being a love story of a couple from opposite side of the border, the film is arriving sans any buzz. It would be a surprise if it gets an all-India release.

With nothing much on the cards for the Hindi release, the film which is all set to score the biggest is ‘Avengers’. After ‘Fast and Furious 7’, it would be interesting to see if this too would break the 10 crore barrier on the opening day. It won’t be surprising if it does.
