Halyna Hutchins had been working as a director of photography of the film ‘Rust’. She accidentally died at the shooting set of the film in Santa Fe, New Mexico, after producer-actor Alec Baldwin fired a prop gun, which hit her.
Hutchins was taken to the University of New Mexico Hospital by helicopter. There she was declared dead already by the doctors. She had previously worked in an independent superhero mystery-thriller film ‘Archenemy’ (2020).
Halyna Hutchins’ husband, Matt Hutchins had opened up yesterday about the tragedy and he posted about her on his social media.
Halyna inspired us all with her passion and vision, and her legacy is too meaningful to encapsulate in words. Our loss is enormous, and we ask that the media please respect my family’s privacy as we process our grief. We thank everyone for sharing images and stories of her life. pic.twitter.com/LgEp4XVkja

Actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas has also shared a picture of Halyna Hutchins on her Instagram story and mourns on her sudden demise and wrote, “I’m so shook. I cannot imagine what everyone involved in this tragedy is feeling. There are no words. No one should die on a film set. Period. My heart goes out for Halyna Hutchins’ family and everyone who knew her.”
