‘Drishyam’ has bagged a stunning opening weekend of Rs 30.03 crore nett (Rs. 300.3 million). Superlative word of mouth and reports has seen a fantastic opening weekend start for this non-conventional film and distributors despite multiple challenges such as heavy rains and floods affecting the important territories of Bengal, Rajasthan and Gujarat and the Jammu region facing a bandh since three days. The astounding collections have been achieved also despite stiff competition from ‘Bahubali’ and ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ in theatres. With the affirmative word of mouth and the opening weekend box office blitzkrieg, the figures are expected to grow throughout the week.
