‘The Mummy’ (1999-2008) franchise was a huge success and continues to be remembered fondly, especially by the older generation and millennials. Brendan Fraser garnered immense appreciation from audiences and gained quite popularity within no time thanks to this series.

However, did you know he had to face some terrifying incidents on the shooting set of ‘The Mummy’? The actor has finally opened up about this aspect after two decades. Recently in an interview with ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’, Fraser revealed that he had a near-to-death experience when a stunt went wrong while filming.

Brendan Fraser, who has been nominated for the Oscars 2023 for his performance in ‘The Whale’ (2022), shared, “I was standing on my toes like this with the rope and you only got so far to go. Stephen (the director) ran over and he said, ‘Hey, it doesn’t really look like your choking. Can you sell it?’.”

Later the production team tried to film the scene once more. “The camera swooped around and I went up on the toes and the guy holding the rope above me, he pulled it up a little higher and I was stuck on my toes and I had nowhere to go but down. So he was pulling up and I was going down. And then the next thing I knew, my elbow was in my ear, the world was sideways and there was gravel in my teeth”, Brendan continued. Instantly the whole team and stunt coordinator rushed towards the actor to wake him up.
