Cillian Murphy’s Oppenheimer first poster unveiled, exhibits destruction caused by atom bomb

The mind-blowing news of Christopher Nolan directorial upcoming star-studded venture, starring Cillian Murphy, Robert Downey Jr., Rami Malek and Kenneth Branagh, ‘Oppenheimer’ was announced this February and it literally took the broke the internet. The makers even unvelied the first picture of Murphy as Oppenheimer along with the announcement, where we saw Cillian was captured in a black and white photo, staring keenly, while smoking a cigarette. According to records, Oppenheimer was a chain-smoker and suffered from throat cancer.

The film ‘Oppenheimer’ is a biopic of J. Robert Oppenheimer, who was credited as ‘Father of the Atomic Bomb’ for his role in the Manhattan Project during the World War 2, that developed the first nuclear weapon. Oppenheimer was among those, who observed the Trinity test in New Mexico, where the first atomic bomb was successfully detonated on July 16, 1945.

Today, the makers have dropped the first poster of the film and it shows a silhouette of a man, wearing a suit and a hat, who is supposed to be Cillian Murphy as he is portraying the titular role, standing in the middle of fiery clouds of smoke. The poster picture has already taken the internet by storm as netizens are super excited.

Previously in an interview with The Guardians, Murphy divulged that how much hard work he has done and explained his work by saying, “I’m interested in the man and what does to the individual. The mechanics of it, that is not really for me. I don’t have the intellectual capability to understand them.”

“I will always turn up for Chris, whatever the size of the part. Chris will call me up and I’m there. Isn’t it wonderful that filmmakers are still making challenging, demanding films within the studio system, shot on film rather than IMAX? I think he is flying the flag. Him, Paul Thomas Anderson and Quentin Tarantino are fantastic filmmakers making interesting work on a massive scale”, Murphy further continued.

‘Oppenherimer’ also stars Florence Pugh, Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Jack Quaid, Josh Hartnett, Gustaf Skarsgård and is coming to thrill us on July 21, 2023.
