One of the most awaited Hollywood films of 2023, ‘Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning – Part One’, is all set to release tomorrow. The excitement is tremendous as the series is popular in India. Interestingly, earlier, only the urban crowd was a fan of it but slowly, its increasing collections prove that it is getting some acceptance in B and C centres as well. The last part in the series, ‘Mission: Impossible – Fallout’ (2018), collected nearly Rs. 80 Crore.

Hence, a lot is expected from ‘Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning – Part One’. The trailers and making videos of the film have made viewers very curious and exhilarated. The lead actor Tom Cruise is now 60 years old and to see him perform the deadly stunts will be an important factor that will pull audiences to cinemas. The reviews from the West are also very encouraging.

‘Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning – Part One’ releases on a Wednesday. Usually, this happens if there’s a mid-week holiday. Tomorrow, however, is a working day and yet, the film is being released so that it can play in IMAX screens for nine days instead of seven, before Christopher Nolan’s ‘Oppenheimer’ arrives in cinemas. Despite it being a non-holiday, the ticket sales are encouraging. The film is expected to open in the range of Rs. 12 and 14 Crore. It can also cross the Rs. 15 Crore mark. The collections will naturally drop on Thursday. But it can rise from Friday evening and then Saturday and Sunday will also be huge.

If the word of mouth is positive, ‘Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning – Part One’s collections for the extended weekend can be anywhere between Rs. 55-70 Crore or even higher. Its collections will suffer in the second week as not just ‘Oppenheimer’ but also ‘Barbie’ will also target the same urban audience. But if reports are encouraging, it’ll collect at steady, low levels. At this rate, it can emerge as the first ‘Mission Impossible’ film to enter the Rs. 100 Crore club.
