Alia Bhatt is super thrilled, Gangubai Kathiawadi ruling the box office

Alia Bhatt, known for her versatile and strong roles and carrying it with full confidence on-screen at a very little age, unfailingly. From starting in ‘Student Of The Year’ (2012) as a self-centered bubbly school girl to ‘Highway’ (2014) as a miserable girl, who is struck in her abusive family, then in ‘Raazi’ (2018) as a raw agent, in ‘Gully Boy’ (2019) as a rowdy girlfriend, Alia has never failed to amaze us.

Released on February 25 in theatres, no doubt, once again Alia astounds us with her role as a Mafia queen in ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’. This is the first collaboration between Alia and Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Alia has already rocked it. Though the film has faced few legal troubles before releasing, as Gangubai’s family claimed that exhibiting Gangubai as a prostitute is pure injustice and to put a hold on its release. But it couldn’t stop the film to release and ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ has earned immense acclaim from the audiences, as well as critics from various reputed channels.

Alia Bhatt also seemed super excited as she has kept on sharing the ratings given by the critics time-to-time and has also shared audience’s excitement on social media. She made a grand entry in few theatres in Mumbai on the film’s opening day to surprise the fans. She was all dressed same like the character, wearing a white organza saree along with a red rose in her ponytail. Alia had also posed like Gangubai and did the signature namastey, which made audiences super excited to see their favourite star in real. Alia has also thanked everyone dearly for watching her film.

Yesterday, Alia again continued sharing fans’ reel videos, imitating her role as Gangubai and also shared other celebrities’ reactions on the film like Varun Dhawan, Aditi Rao Hydari on her Instagram story.

‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ is a biological crime-drama and loosely based on the true story of Ganga Harjivandas, whose life was documented in the book ‘Mafia Queens Of Mumbai’, written by Hussain Zaidi in 2011. The film follows the story about a simple girl from Kathiawad, who has no choice but to embrace the dreadful situations and sufferings swinging in her life. The film has earned Rs. 10.50 crore on its opening day and became the first blockbuster hit in 2022.

‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ also had a World Premiere at the 72nd Berlin International Film Festival on February 16.
