As the actor continues to impress us with his performances, we list down his seven movies that prove he is the ‘Rajkummar’ of the Hindi Film Industry.

Shahid

Rajkummar dived into a complex and nuanced film very early on in his career. Based on the life of lawyer and human rights activist Shahid Azmi, the film is considered one of his best works to date. Notably, the actor bagged his first National Film Award for the film.

Trapped

Not only did Rajkummar blew the audience with his brilliant performance, but he left everyone shocked with his body transformation. To look like a helpless resident locked in an apartment, the actor reduced a significant amount of weight. The film received a standing ovation at its world premiere at the Mumbai Film Festival.

Bareilly Ki Barfi

Known to be an actor of multiple genres, Rajkummar surprised everyone with his comic timing in ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ (2017). With Pritam Vidrohi, Rajkummar effortlessly pulled off two distinct aspects of his character. The actor won the Filmfare Award for his brilliant work in the film.

Newton

Playing a role of an honest clerk who is ready to go to any length to get the work done assigned to him, Rajkummar elevated the humble story of Newton with his performance. What really struck a chord with the audience was his ability to emote every emotion through his eyes. Interestingly, ‘Newton’ (2017) was India’s official entry to the Oscars.

Omerta

Venturing into yet another diverse genre, Rajkummar earned applause for his work in the biographical crime drama. The actor portrayed the role of terrorist Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh who was involved with the kidnapping of four foreign nationals in 1994. As demanding and challenging as the character was, Rajkummar made it look simply flawless on the screen.

Stree

Credited for bringing back the less explored genre, Horror-Comedy, Rajkummar Rao gave a smashing hit with ‘Stree’ (2018). Balancing the two, thrill and comedy, the actor yet again proved his acting skills. Rightly hailed as one of the most talented actors, Rajkummar made a strong case with his performance in the film.

Ludo

With ‘Ludo’, Rajkummar breathed life into a one-sided lover. While catching the beat of Mithun Da (Mithun Chakraborty), the actor gave one of the most terrific performances in the dark comedy. He shined with loveable and charming honesty on screen.
