Even after a month of its release, ‘Purple Hearts’ continues to be the most loved film among Netflix’s July releases. The romance between Sofia Carson and Nicholas Galitzine is literally making netizens’ hearts flutter. The story revolves around an aspiring musician, who agrees to a marriage of convenience with a soon-to-deploy Marine, but a tragedy soon turns their fake relationship all too real. The film was widely applauded and hence, it became an instant hit.

Seems like fans cannot get enough of it yet. They want more and therefore, the makers have already hinted about a sequel. Even in a recent interview, Sofia Carson has also spilled the beans that she would love to do a sequel of ‘Purple Hearts’. Carson shared, “I adore being Cassie and I would be curious to see where it goes. Who knows. You never know.”

Not only that, even we can surely expect a sequel, as the film has left us on a cliffhanger. Few sources shared that, co-producers, Elizabeth Allen Rosenbaum and Sofia Carson are in talks currently. Rosenbaum has shared, “We would not do anything unless we really, really loved it, because we want to stay true to the integrity. We have not landed on anything specific yet. It’s always a possibility.”

In this social media era, even if the film is loved by many, it’s definite that it will face some controversies too and that’s exactly what happened. ‘Purple Hearts’ has also faced several debates. According to ComicBook, some viewers called the film “Military propaganda”, some found it racist, anti-LGBTQ and much more.

Nevertheless, let’s see how the makers will be impressing us next in the sequel.
