The visionary Subhash Ghai had always applauded everyone who has made a mark in cinema and worked for the welfare of the society. As people mourn for the ‘iron lady’ Jayalalitha’s demise, the legendary producer- director Subhash Ghai takes a moment to remember the loved politician.

Recalling an incident, the filmmaker says, “I did spend some personal moments with great M. G. Ramachandran in my early days when he was superstar of Tamil cinema. I had asked him once why did he want to join politics when he is doing so well ? He answered, “I want to join politics because I want to be policy maker for poor people and reduce the disparity of wealth between rich and poor.” He added saying, “I think that way as I am an artist, an actor, who can feel the pains of poor. Who has compassion for deprived ones.”

“Jayalalithaa ji who was MGR’s loyal follower must have followed same school thoughts and has carried his regime so strongly. She became the hero for poor people till end of her life. We salute her. Her departure with such qualities must inspire younger politicians to join politics to serve poor first and have sincere compassion for developing its state and nation in today’s era.”
