Ameesha Patel and Kareena Kapoor Khan made their Bollywood debuts in the early 2000s. Both actresses went on to carve a name for themselves with their films garnering varying box office success. However, there were rumours in 2000 that the two actresses were having a cold war.

The rumours claimed that Kareena had called Ameesha a “bad actor” and made nasty comments about her role in ‘Kaho Naa…Pyaar Hai’ (2000). Ameesha and Kareena never spoke out about the rumours at the time, but in 2022, Ameesha finally broke her silence.

In an interview with Pinkvilla in 2022, Ameesha said that the rumours were “cooked up” by the tabloids. She said that she has no problems with Kareena and that she thinks she is a “tremendously beautiful woman” and an “amazing actress.” Ameesha also revealed that she has a close connection with Kareena’s father, Randhir Kapoor.

It is unclear why the rumours about a feud between Ameesha and Kareena started in the first place. However, it is clear that the two actresses have no ill will towards each other. In fact, Ameesha has said that she is a fan of Kareena’s work.

It is also worth noting that ‘Kaho Naa…Pyaar Hai’ was originally offered to Kareena, but she ultimately lost the role to Ameesha. This may have been a source of some tension between the two actresses but it is clear that they have both moved on.

Ameesha Patel reprises her role in ‘Gadar 2’ as Sakeena in the sequel to ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’ (2001). The other actors in the film are Sunny Deol, Utkarsh Sharma, Simrat Kaur, Manish Wadhwa, Mir Sarwar and Rohit Choudhary. Directed by Anil Sharma, it is scheduled to release on August 11, 2023.

Kareena’s last project was the big flop, ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ (2022), opposite Aamir Khan, which was directed by Advait Chandan.
