After Raaz, 1920, Haunted and Hate Story, filmmaker Vikram Bhatt has announced yet another franchise, ‘1921’, his fifth franchise and fourth horror franchise in his 34 years career in the film industry. ‘1921’ revolves around students of music and is set in a university town. This film will be produced by Vikram’s new production banner Loneranger Productions and Reliance Entertainment.
“The idea behind 1920 was to bring horror into a period drama redolent with the romance of the times. But with Part 2 and Part 3 the direction changed and the series became more about horror. 1921, while more terrifying, will also be more emotional,“ Vikram said, confirming the new horror franchise.
Zareen Khan, who is riding high after the success of ‘Hate Story 3’, has been signed in to play the lead heroine while the leading actors are yet to finalize. “We’ve already signed Zareen Khan who brought in a certain amount of dignity to Hate Story 3. We could shoot the film in Vienna or Yorkshire, or even somewhere in Italy or Scotland. It will go on the floors in November. With 1921 I will begin a new chapter in my 33-year career.”
Zareen, for the first time, is trying her hands in horror genre and she is very excited to experiment it under Bhatt camp who is known for taking this genre to the next level with successful horror movies. We heard that when Vikram narrated ‘1921’ to the actress, she was blown over and couldn’t say no even though horror movies terrify her. “I have been a fan of his films and it was too good an opportunity to pass over. Maybe it will cure me of the phobia. It’s a kind of a challenge,“ Zareen said.
