Veteran director Rakesh Kumar passes away; prayer meet to be held tomorrow

Rakesh Kumar, was a popular director from the ’70s to ’90s as he had given several remarkable films in Bollywood. The veteran director-producer took his last breath on November 10 at the age of 81. According to sources, he was suffering from cancer and was admitted to a private hospital in Mumbai.

Rakesh Kumar will always be remembered for his films like ‘Khoon Pasina’ (1977), ‘Mr. Natwarlal’ (1979), ‘Do Aur Do Paanch’ (1980), ‘Yaarana’ (1981), ‘Suryavanshi’ (1992) among others. Apart from directing, Kumar was also famous for producing films such as ‘Commander’ (1981), ‘Dil Tujhko Diya’ (1987), ‘Kaun Jeeta Kaun Haara’ (1987), etc.

A prayer meeting has been arranged in his memory, which will be held tomorrow, on Sunday, November 13 from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm at The Celebration Sports Club, Garden No. 5, Lokhandwala, Andheri (West), Mumbai.
