The real life couple Riteish and Genelia Deshmukh recently collaborated on screen in ‘Mister Mummy’ (2022), after a decade of break from the industry. They were last seen in ‘Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya’ (2012). ‘Mister Mummy’ was an unusual film for them as it featured Riteish Deshmukh as Amol Kote, a cisgender man, whose life turns upside down when he discovers that he is pregnant.

Although ‘Mister Mummy’ couldn’t impress the audience much and did not do well at the box office as well, that couldn’t stop Riteish and Genelia. They are now coming back together in a Marathi language film, ‘Ved’.

The interesting thing with ‘Ved’ is that it marks Riteish’s directorial debut. It also stars Riteish in the lead role along with Genelia and hence it is also Genelia’s debut in Marathi cinema. Both have also produced the film together.

‘Ved’ promises to be an intense love story. The trailer of the film was released two weeks ago and it has garnered ten million views on YouTube. For those who are unaware, Ved means madness in Marathi and hence, the actor-director will be seen in an intense lover boy role. ‘Ved’ is inspired from the Telugu film ‘Majili’ (2019), in which Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu played the lead roles.

Today, while sharing a cute sibling fight video between him and actor Danny Pandit, Riteish revealed that ‘Ved’ will be releasing on December 30. In the video, Riteish and Danny can be seen playing the roles of siblings and Riteish is miffed with Danny for constantly using his shirts and shoes. In the caption, Ritesh asked fans to tag their siblings in the comment section and feel the nostalgia.

‘Ved’ is directed by Ritesh Deshmukh and backed by Genelia Deshmukh, with Ritesh and Genelia featuring in lead roles. The music is composed by Ajay and Atul Gogavale. The film will be released on December 30, 2022.
