A film getting delayed is not good news. When a film’s release date gets deferred repeatedly, it creates negativity about it. People make various speculations. They mostly assume that the film did not shape up well and hence, the producers are delaying it to reshoot some portions or are looking at different ways to market it so that its shortcomings could be camouflaged till the time it hits the theatres. However, there are times when a film actually benefits from a delay in its release.
‘Arjun Patiala’, starring Diljit Dosanjh, Kriti Sanon and Varun Sharma in principal roles, was shot between February and July last year and was slated to release on 13th September 2018. The release date was then announced and changed several times and the film is now, finally, ready to release on 26 July, 2019.
After wrapping up ‘Arjun Patiala’, Kriti shot for ‘Luka Chuppi’, which was bankrolled by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films. The film released earlier this year and turned out to be a huge success. Though both Dinesh Vijan and Kriti had a few successes behind them while ‘Arjun Patiala’ was being shot, the success of ‘Luka Chuppi’ has definitely benefitted them in ways more than one. The success of the film should also reflect well on ‘Arjun Patiala’ as two of the key members from the team – Kriti and Dinesh – are a part of it.
